Articles About Entertaiment
The word “entertain” is derived from the Latin intertenere, or to hold inside. The prefix inter means “inside,” and the suffix tenere relates to the Indo-European root ten, meaning to stretch or hold out. Thus, the meaning of entertainment has always reflected its capacity to be stretched and adapted to fit any occasion. It is also closely linked to leisure, and one common understanding of the idea is fun and laughter, although many entertainments have a serious purpose, as may be the case with various styles of ceremony, celebration, religious festival, party, non secular pageant, or satire for example.
