Law new is a term that describes the idea of legal services that are delivered in new ways. The people have the right to review the process of governmental decision-making and the documents and statistics leading to those decisions, and such information should not be shielded from public view by any claims of confidentiality or privacy. It is the responsibility of every agency, in carrying out its duties, to provide for the fullest possible disclosure of such records to members of the public, individually and collectively, except as otherwise provided for in this article.
It is the responsibility of every department, board, bureau, division, council or office and public corporation the majority of whose members are appointed by the Governor to comply with this article. Any person who knowingly conceals or destroys a record, part of a record or the means to access that record for inspection by the public is guilty of a misdemeanor. This section does not apply to any records containing sensitive or confidential business information, including attorney-client communications.
This bill would amend the City’s data breach notification laws to make them more consistent with requirements in State law. It would require City agencies to promptly disclose data breaches involving persons’ private identifying information to the Chief Privacy Officer, the NYPD and the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications, as well as to affected individuals. It also would expand the circumstances in which such information is required to be disclosed under these laws.

This law would require City agencies to provide employees and job applicants with notice of available student loan forgiveness programs. It would require DCWP to prepare and distribute the notice for this purpose, and it would require that such notice be posted on the DCWP website.
